Phil Hansen Featured on Voice of America

Innovative keynote speaker and multimedia artist Phil Hansen was recently featured on Voice of America, the largest international broadcaster in the U.S. In the report, Phil talks about Bana Alabed, the inspiration behind his “When I was 7” project.

Bana Alabed is a seven-year-old girl who lived in Syria during the Syrian war. At such a young age, she was forced to experience the war firsthand along with all the violence and tragedy that came with it.

After hearing Bana’s story, Phil realized that his experience as a seven-year-old was vastly different from Bana’s. He could not relate to her experience in any way and wanted to further explore how others experienced the youthful age of seven.

He then collected other people’s stories in an effort to understand how different everyone’s experience as a seven-year-old was, depending on their home country, personal situation and other factors. Click here to watch the full video and see exactly how Phil’s project came to life.

Phil is an innovative motivational speaker who speaks on leadership, interactive art, and overcoming adversity and limitations. For more information on how to book Phil, give us a call at 1.800.345.5607.
